The Must-Haves/Must-Dos for Attracting and Retaining Members

They may not generate separate revenue, but according to our experts, these are must-haves/dos for attracting and retaining members:

  • Onsite child care
  • Personal fitness trainers. If not available at your club, they’ll go elsewhere.  And that can take one of your most valuable assets off the table
  • Upgraded restroom facilities
  • Social media presence. It may not be for all your members, but we can guarantee you a good portion of your members are at the very least on Facebook.  Worth the investment — if you actually invest the resources. Use it to engage members, keep them informed, let them share experiences, promote spontaneous events and specials, communicate changes and improvements, and more
  • Think outside your walls. Sponsor community events and activities.  Rally, coordinate and sponsor a club team to walk in a local charity event; supply team shirts, hats, water bottles, etc.  Sponsor a local little league team or field.  In target-rich environments, of course, offer your chef up for community fairs, festivals and events where you provide the food — and gain exposure for the club
