ON THE BOARDS

BACKGROUND

The Club’s planning process began in 2023 with the development of a Strategic Plan, which established a collective vision for the future of WCC. In 2024, the Club engaged Chambers to develop a phased Facilities Master Plan based on member input from focus groups, Town Hall meetings, and data collected through membership surveys.

OUR APPROACH

In addition to responding to member priorities for amenity enhancemenets, Phase One also addresses significant operational challenges with regard to aging kitchen equipment, an inefficient kitchen layout, insufficient back of house spaces, and reconfiguration of dining spaces to provide better service.

The new Bar and Adult Dining experience will feature a large, free-floating bar with various seating options. The space celebrates views to the outdoors with expansive windows and two operable window walls that provide open access to the expanded outdoor dining/social terrace. A central fireplace is shared by the adjacent family casual dining space, and an elevated ceiling height creates an open and welcoming atmosphere.

The renovated Casual Dining space will feature a variety of dining and banquette-style table seating in a casual atmosphere that welcomes all members of the family. Expansive operable window walls will offer the space ample natural light, as well as direct access to the expanded outdoor terrace, lower pool dining, and lawn area with fire pits.

The new Member Lounge will feature a new bar and a variety of soft seating, as well as warm lighting and sophisticated finishes to create an upscale ambiance. Adjacent access to event areas will enable this space to be used as a cocktail lounge for large events, while offering the ability to close off access for private gatherings and smaller social events.

Separate from the Clubhouse, a new Social Pavilion will offer all members a vibrant, casual dining and social experience with a large outdoor bar surrounded by high top tables and exceptional views of the 18th fairway. The open-air structure Outdoor Social Pavilion will offer limited food service and a pizza oven for a drink or casual bite to eat, and the design will incorporate design elements from the main clubhouse to ensure a seamless aesthetic throughout the campus.
