BACKGROUND

For over 100 years, St. Clair Country Club has been committed to providing members with some of the finest golf, dining, and recreational experiences in Western Pennsylvania. Its 18-hole Championship Course was designed by Dick Wilson and Joe Lee in the late 1960s and is ranked 20th in the state of Pennsylvania by Golf Digest.

After Chambers guided St. Clair through a successful clubhouse dining renovation in 2014—a renovation that garnered three industry awards and resulted in a 41% increase in utilization—Club Leadership re-engaged Chambers to refresh the long-range facilities master plan and identify the next phase of facility improvements.

OUR APPROACH – PHASE ONE

Phase One improvements focused on aesthetically refreshing the clubhouse entry experience and function spaces. The design focuses on warm neutrals with accents of rich color, updating the previous dark, heavy wood to create a transitional backdrop for events of all shapes and sizes. The new Lobby and Corridors provide a warm and welcoming environment for members and guests as they enter the clubhouse and travel to the event areas or dining spaces.

The new finishes and light fixtures in the Ballroom offer a contemporary yet elegant canvas for brides to plan their perfect wedding or the club to host club-wide events for holidays and special occasions. The adjacent Living Room features a focal fireplace and various seating arrangements, serving the members as a cocktail lounge or prefunction space with direct access to the Ballroom.

Nearby, the reimagined Wine Room features a stunning wine display behind contemporary glass, while the aesthetics of the room blend a sophisticated and transitional feel. This space is perfect for private events and small functions. Plus, its direct access to the adjacent Living Room creates flexibility for using these spaces separately or in conjunction with one another for mid-size functions. Aesthetic upgrades to the Main Level Restrooms complement the enhancements of the event/function spaces.
