BACKGROUND

Originally founded in 1880, Congress Lake Club is a family-focused club with a beautiful lake and resort-style amenities. Although it started off as The Canton Outing Club, it was incorporated as The Congress Lake Club Company in 1896. Today, the Club provides its members with a relaxed lifestyle and excellent service. Designed by architect Guy Tillman, the historic century-old clubhouse overlooks a beautiful 200-acre glacial lake.

OUR APPROACH

Chamber’s Facilities Plan highlights various key strategic drivers to improve the member experience. It is a strategic priority to emphasize indoor and outdoor living, first-class dining, and social amenities in order to further enhance the Club’s family-centric culture, property maintenance, and continued development of Clubhouse facilities.

The plan included expanding the indoor dining facility with dedicated areas for family dining, a bar lounge, and private dining area. The current bar was replaced with a large, centrally located cross-talk bar with expansive windows to maximize views of the lake and golf course.

Enhancing outdoor member facilities to promote increased utilization, providing additional areas for socialization, and offering opportunities for an enhanced casual dining experiences that appeal to multiple generations were all part of the strategy applied to maximize the property and views of the lake. The expanded outdoor dining terrace now features a trellis covering capable of closing for inclement weather as well as fans, heaters, and screening for three-season use. A direct connection to the existing pool deck provides ease of access from the terrace to the pool. The new lower patio features two fire pit lounge areas as an additional social offering for members to enjoy.
