ON THE BOARDS
BACKGROUND
What started as a working farm in 1679, is now the land surrounding Willow Oaks Country Club, rich with beauty, history and tradition. Since opening its doors in 1957, the Club has undergone several major renovations that honor its rich history and architectural elements, while modernizing its offerings to meet ever-evolving member needs. As Willow Oaks set out to develop a long-term plan for its next iteration, Club leadership turned to Chambers for guidance.
OUR APPROACH
The member-driven planning process produced Vision Oaks 2024, which focuses on improving the adult and family casual dining experiences within the clubhouse, providing a vibrant adult bar experience (both in the clubhouse and at the pool area), enhancing the outdoor dining experience, elevating the golf practice experience, and enhancing the Club’s swimming and racquet amenities.
Clubhouse renovations will reconstruct and expand the existing Kitchen facility to remediate failing infrastructure, increase efficiency and add an array of equipment, thereby providing improved food service to the membership. A renovation and expansion of main dining area will provide an upgraded adult-oriented socializing and dining experience with expanded bar facility and additional outdoor dining capacity. An aesthetically enhanced locker room entry will provide members and guests with an improved arrival sequence as they make their way to renovated locker rooms and wet areas.
A new Golf Performance Center will be positioned on the existing driving range, and will feature four climate-controlled hitting bays, restrooms, and a lounge area with communal table, soft seating and bar for socialization. The design incorporates exposed wood beams, light fixtures, and paneled wall features that complement the design of the existing clubhouse.
At the pool area, an expanded pool deck will increase available space for shade-covered lounge chairs, and a new, three-season Cabana Bar will bring a vibrant social atmosphere to the pool deck, while also serving golfers and racquet players.
Finally, in response to a vibrant and growing racquets experience at the Club, the Vision Oaks program includes an expansion of the indoor tennis facility to accommodate one additional indoor court, as well as the development of four dedicated pickleball courts.
