ON THE BOARDS

BACKGROUND

Pelican Isle Yacht Club is a premier Yacht Club located in Southwest Florida, known for its exceptional offerings and picturesque surroundings. The Club boasts a 190-slip Marina, making it an ideal destination for boating enthusiasts, and offers an array of amenities to support an active lifestyle for its diverse membership.

As the club looks to maintain its notable recognition in the yachting and club community (ranked as the #7 Yacht Club in America by Club Leader’s Forum and placed among the Top 50 Yacht Clubs in the World), club leadership hired Chambers to develop a phased master plan for its site. More immediately, the club also needed assistance with rebuilding a portion of the lower level of the clubhouse due to recent hurricane damage/flooding.

OUR APPROACH

Chambers worked quickly with club leadership to develop a phase one program that focused on the locker rooms and employee areas that were damaged on the lower level. While doing so, the planning and design team took great care to ensure these enhancements would coordinate with later phase improvements planned for the facilities.

The main level enhancements will elevate the member dining experience with a centrally located bar and vibrant casual
atmosphere that leads to a partially covered dining terrace with magnificent waterfront views. To support this dining experience, plans include a significant kitchen renovation/expansion to improve service efficiencies and accommodate increased demand from expanded dining spaces. Plans also include aesthetically upgrading the lobby to enhance the arrival sequence.

NEXT STEPS

Construction is currently underway for the lower level rehabilitation efforts, and detailed design and planning for the next phase of enhancements will soon resume.
