ON THE BOARDS
BACKGROUND
For over 100 years, St. Clair Country Club has been committed to providing members with some of the finest golf, dining, and recreational experiences in Western Pennsylvania. Its 18-hole Championship Course was designed by Dick Wilson and Joe Lee in the late 1960s and is ranked 20th in the state of Pennsylvania by Golf Digest. St. Clair Country Club has been a place to find genteel refinement, challenging sports, and enduring family values since 1916.
After a successful clubhouse dining renovation with Chambers in 2014, Club Leadership engaged our firm once again to identify the next phase of facility improvements.
OUR APPROACH
The planning process focused on several key member-driven initiatives to enhance the SCCC experience, increase the Club’s relevancy and value, and aid the Club in attracting prospective new members. At the same time, the process included a detailed review of infrastructural needs.
Significant structural damage in the Pro Shop building led this to be a top priority of planning efforts, offering an opportunity to provide a brand new Pro Shop experience. The plan also looks toward the future of the member experience by enhancing the outdoor dining experience, developing a casual members’ grille, elevating the short game practice areas, and enhancing recreational offerings.
Detailed design and documentation is currently in progress with construction expected to be completed in 2024.
