BACKGROUND

North Oaks has long been a family-friendly destination for golfers (and non-golfers) to socialize and connect, but over time its members came to see that the clubhouse lacked usable space and no longer represented their inviting demeanor. In 2016, North Oaks Golf Club embarked on a remodeling program that would equip their dining facilities with the space necessary to accommodate their growing membership.

OUR APPROACH

Chambers focused on creating spaces that matched the energy of the membership and enhanced the overall flow of the Club. Improvements focused on reimagining the dining facility, updating the bar area, creating communal outdoor spaces, as well as exterior maintenance improvements including new siding, stone, and a new roof.

What was once a long and dark entry foyer now boasts a bright and welcoming reception and maître d’ area, adding to North Oaks neighborly appeal. To breathe life back into an unused space, the Living Room was transformed into a Wine Room complete with cocktail seating and a stone fireplace. Additionally, the Wine Room opens up to the new expanded bar area, further optimizing the flow and flexibility between spaces.

By adding tall windows and expanding the bar out toward the exterior terrace, members can now enjoy breathtaking views of the golf course while engaging in conversation or grabbing a bite to eat. And to accommodate North Oaks’ growing membership, Chambers reimagined the existing footprint of the dining room to create a more functional space for all to enjoy. Finally, a terrace expansion—including the addition of two outdoor dining spaces and 3 fire pit areas—was implemented to ensure there is room for everyone to revel in the great outdoors.

RESULTS

Since implementation, the Club has seen an increase in utilization as a result of the improved overall member experience. Additionally, the outdoor spaces have proven to be wonderful additions as members are congregating outdoors now more than ever.
