ULCC Receives Second DiRoNA Award
Baltimore, MD | September 14, 2017
Distinguished Restaurants of North America (DiRoNA) has awarded Union League Club of Chicago the prestigious 2017 DiRoNa Award, honoring the Wigwam Dining Room for a second time. The award recognizes excellence in dining throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
In 2015, Chambers assisted the Union League Club of Chicago with interior renovations to the Rendezvous Bar and Wigwam Dining Room. The Rendezvous was developed as a serpentine bar experience to promote member socialization and a serene area to supplement the liveliness of the main dining area.
The Wigwam Dining Room was renovated to promote a more relaxed atmosphere and includes a custom, glass-enclosed wine cellar display and moveable bar. To enhance the member experience, targeted lighting, fine art, specially-selected background music, linens, crystal, china and silver were incorporated into the design.
In the first six months after the dining facility opened, ULCC reported a 12% increase in a la carte dining. The addition of the temperature-controlled wine wall and the built-in display have drastically enhanced ULCC’s member dining experience.
This is not the first time Chambers’ work at ULCC has garnered the attention of one of the most respected awards in the dining and hospitality industry. In 2015, the Union League Club of Chicago Wigwam Dining Room was awarded its first DiRoNA award.
