Skip Avery Appointed to CMAA Club Foundation Board

Chambers, a national planning, architecture, and design firm specializing in private clubs, is pleased to announce that their Executive Vice President Skip Avery has been named as a board member of The Club Foundation for a three-year term. Working alongside experienced general managers, industry professionals, and the CEO of CMAA, Avery will utilize his extensive experience as a veteran club manager and, more recently, an astute club planning and operations consultant, to further the goals of The Club Foundation.
Avery has served the organization in the past as a former CMAA president, and supported The Club Foundation by hosting education sessions for various CMAA chapters and actively participating in Chambers’ bronze sponsorship as a Corporate Alliance Partner. However, fulfilling the role of The Club Foundation board member offers additional opportunities to aid the organization’s admirable efforts to foster growth of private clubs across the country.
Originally established in 1988, The Club Foundation is the only non-profit organization focused exclusively on advancing the private club industry. The organization raises funds to support the development of club managers through education, training, and research. To date, they have raised more than $6.5 million to support scholarship opportunities and grant programs for private club professionals.
Considering Avery’s extensive experience and passion for the private club industry, it comes as little surprise that he is looking forward to the challenges ahead. “It’s an honor to continue to serve CMAA, the Club Foundation, and the members of this great organization,” Avery comments. “I can’t wait to get started.”
Chambers has been working in the private club industry since their first engagement with Baltimore Country Club in 1945.
