Chambers Joins Design Team for New Robinson Landing Development in Alexandria

WASHINGTON, DC | January 25, 2019

Chambers—a planning, architecture and interior design firm specializing in private club and hospitality design—has been selected to work with EYA affiliate EYA RTS Construction, LLC on the highly anticipated Robinson Landing Development nestled along Old Town Alexandria’s waterfront.

Since its beginning, Alexandria has been a town that welcomes cutting-edge design and seamlessly blends forward-thinking innovation with its historic past. Most recently, the town is preparing to welcome the new Robinson Landing neighborhood nestled alongside the beautiful Potomac River. Blending traditional and modern design with the use of brick, steel, and glass to complement the historic Old Town setting, The Robinson Landing site will also feature new dining, retail, and green space along a new promenade and revitalized pier.

An integral part of this vibrant, mixed-use community will be The Condominiums at Robinson Landing—a 70-unit luxury condominium apartment community that includes a five-star concierge lobby, resident lounge, meeting room, fitness center, yoga studio, mail room, pet spa, and bike storage area. Chambers is pleased to be awarded the FF&E design and procurement portion of the project, capitalizing on the developer’s luxury brand to incorporate a rich palette of materials, including warm woods, honed marble floors and walls, luxurious quartzite, rich wallcoverings, and unique artwork throughout the property.

“We are proud to be a part of this renewal project as it continues to breathe fresh, new life into one of the most historically significant sites in the City,” notes Chambers’ Firmwide Director of Interior Design and Principal, Charlie Turner. “We are pleased to be able to infuse our team’s diverse expertise and experience in lifestyle design and procurement for high-end private clubs, luxury residences, and hotels into this project.” Chambers’ DC office is leading the firm’s efforts on the project, which is set to open in early 2020.
