BACKGROUND

A former client from years past, the Platinum Level club engaged Chambers to assist in developing a master plan to better position the club for the future. Prior to the clubhouse renovation, one entrance on the side of the building was used for all member and guest functions at the club, creating confusion for first-time visitors and much cross-traffic throughout the club. Chambers set out to develop a full master plan for the club to enhance the overall club experience for the vibrant membership, and assisted with the implementation of Phase One improvements.

OUR APPROACH

A 4,200-square foot expansion of the clubhouse yielded a grand Member Entrance with porte cochere as well as a beautiful “Hallway of Champions” inside, lined with glass showcases of the club’s rich history and traditions – unique elements that the club did not have previously. Members can then choose to either travel downstairs to a renovated and repurposed 19th Hole Grill area, or upstairs where two smaller function rooms were combined to create an expanded Donald Ross Lounge. Other improvements to the clubhouse include improved restroom facilities, relocation of administration / club management offices, and an expansion to the outdoor dining terrace with a direct entrance from the upper terrace to the member areas.

RESULTS

Member utilization of this space has tripled since reopening and showcases an exposed, vaulted ceiling (original to the building but previously enclosed to house mechanical equipment) and breathtaking views of the golf course. The kitchen was also renovated and expanded to improve efficiency and properly service the increased utilization of the dining areas. Best of all – the members couldn't be happier!
