Charlie Turner Chambers, a Baltimore-based 360° club planning, architecture, and interior design firm specializing in private clubs, recently announced the promotion of Mr. Charlie Turner, ASID, NCIDQ, to Vice President. He will also continue to fulfill his current role as Director of Interior Design.

Since joining Chambers three years ago, Turner has played an essential part in providing the first class interior design services, for which the firm has been known since 1899. Aside from managing one of the top private club interior design teams in the country, he has also worked with numerous private clubs to produce designs that are uniquely forward-thinking and on-trend.

“Charlie has worked across boundaries over the last three years to understand the dynamics between planning, architecture, and interior design and how they all successfully work together,” says Bob Hickman, Chambers Chairman and head of Interior Design. By enhancing collaboration, Turner has further enriched Chambers’ 360⁰ approach to private club design and planning.

“Everyone at Chambers has benefitted from his global view of the design world in which we live every day,” says Hickman. Turner’s extensive background working for two of the finest hospitality design firms in Washington D.C, Hickok Cole Architects and ForrestPerkins, has been invaluable to creating comprehensive interiors and interior enhancement plans for private clubs that augment the member experience. Turner will move forward with his new role as Vice President while continuing to oversee the company’s Interior Design Studio.

Chambers has been working in the private club industry since their first engagement with Baltimore Country Club in the mid 1940's. Today they are the largest hospitality design firm in the nation with a singular purpose of working with private clubs. Chambers is also a Corporate Alliance Partner of the Club Managers Association of America, providing significant support to the continuing education and advancement of the private club industry.
